This presentation will demonstrate the incorporation of online instruction in K-12 university teacher preparation program courses using Virtual Learning Environment systems (e.g. Blackboard, Moodle). It will also examine the various uses of Web 2.0 tools such as blogs, wikis, podcasts, social networking, picture/video sharing, etc. The main focus of the presentation will be the demonstration of how such tools can be used to motivate students who are prospective teachers to be more responsible for their own learning.
