The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation launched our College Ready strategy in 2008, envisioning a nation where all students have the opportunity to graduate high school with the skills to succeed in college-level work. It is an audacious goal shared by a multitude of partners who agree that there is no silver bullet to “fixing” America’s schools, but rather a combination of tools, systems, and resources that are needed to ensure that every child gets the chance to learn at high levels. At the core of our strategy is the belief that teachers are the single most important school-based factor to a student’s success. That’s why we are committed to doing everything we can to support teachers by providing them with the resources and tools they need to do their best work in the classroom.
